Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild has signed a three-year contract to become main sponsor of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix, an endorsement based on shared values such as innovation and a passion for craftsmanship, teamwork and excellence. The Grand Prix brings together all the big names in watchmaking and is a highlight of life in Geneva.
An industry honoured
Contending for the 2011 Grand Prix are nearly 70 watches by the world's greatest brands. They have been hand-picked in seven categories: Ladies', Men's, Design, Jewellery & Artistic Crafts, Complexity, Sports and "Petite Aiguille".
Exhibitions in Switzerland and Asia
The competing watches have already been admired by visitors to a travelling exhibition. This was held on 5 October at Les Ambassadeurs on Zurich's famous Bahnhofstrasse, from 18 to 22 October in Hong Kong and from 26 to 30 October at the Belles Montres salon in Shanghai.
In Geneva from 8 to 16 November
The exhibition has been home in Geneva, from 8 to 16 November, at the Cité du Temps on the Pont de la Machine.
The three finalist watches per category will end their tour in Paris at the Belles Montres salon, from 24 to 27 November.
Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild supports young talent
The prizes were awarded on Saturday 19 November at Geneva's Grand Théâtre. On this occasion Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild has the honour of presenting the prize for the best apprentice watchmaker. For us, endorsing the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie not only means rewarding excellence but also encouraging its up-and-coming artisans.
